We appreciate that people are cautious about donating to charity. With so many charities, how do you decide where to give your money, and how do you know that it’s being well spent? We hope that this website has provided you with an insight into the work we do, and why we need your support. We are a small charity with very low overheads. This means that the vast majority of your money goes straight to where it is needed most.
We are a member of GlobalGiving UK, a charity that screens and vets grassroots charity projects around the world. All charities listed on GlobalGiving UK undergo rigorous vetting and due diligence checks in order to ensure that they are charitable in nature, transparent, accountable, and registered with their local government. We joined GlobalGiving UK in order to increase our profile and the donations which we so crucially need. In order to join, we needed not only to pass fundraising challenges. They first collected and reviewed due diligence documents on our charity, including organisation and legal documents, financial records, senior staff lists and programme materials. The fact that we are listed means that we “passed” this vetting process. We hope that this gives you the peace of mind you need to donate!
